Cincinnati and northern Kentucky are preparing for BLINK Cincinnati, the nation's largest art and light festival that will illuminate the area from Oct. 17-20.

The festival will light up more than 30 city blocks across Cincinnati and northern Kentucky, bringing hundreds of thousands of people to the banks of the Ohio River.

Throughout the city, installations were tested on Tuesday night, just days before BLINK kicks off with an opening night parade on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Cincinnati's Music Hall was one building that was testing their light installation on Tuesday, while the Purple People Bridge was also illuminated Tuesday night in preparation for the event.

Organizers of the outdoor art and light phenomenon announced it will be expanding further into northern Kentucky this year. Organizers said they thought about the expansion since 2022 and are excited to make it come to life this year.

They will also be bringing back the drone show they launched during the 2022.

BLINK's Director Justin Brookhart also hinted at a "first-of-its-kind" installation that will be making its debut this year. Brookhart described it as a "bridge of light" connecting the two sides of the river with an 100-foot-long array of laser lights stretching from Covington Landing to Sawyer Point on Cincinnati's riverfront.
